Tenkara USA Iwana 12′ Rod

The Tenkara USA Iwana 12′ is the best selling tenkara rod in our shop. This is a very versatile tenkara rod. If you are only going to own one tenkara rod, we highly suggest you start with this rod. It works well on small and mid-sized streams. It is more than capable of handling most stream fish. We have caught fish up to 18″ on this rod with little problem. If you are looking for a great way to get started with tenkara you can’t go wrong with the Iwana 12.

In addition to the rod you will want/need the following items to get setup:

-Blue Tenkara Line Holder Spool or Fuji EZ Keepers for line storage

-Level Line- 3.5 Orange is a great all purpose tenkara level line

-Traditional Line- If you haven’t tenkara fished before, its nice to try both styles of lines. The Traditional tapered tenkara lines cast great. We like them for light weight flies and for fishing dries.

The progressive taper, ultra-light weight, and tip action provides for great battles, even when hooking the smaller fish.
